· Provide leadership in developing strong enrollments in dance, music, theatre and visual art teacher certification programs; administer arts education special appropriations funding; engage bilingual communities and respond to the changing demographics in the state; promote culturally responsive curricula and pedagogy; advance the various schools and departments housing Fine Arts education programs; negotiate appointments and salaries with prospective faculty; act as the Dean’s liaison and as an advisor concerning faculty searches and retention, including cultivating diverse pools of candidates; collaborate with the college of education regarding teacher certification; serve as the college’s representative to programs across campus and within area school districts and communities; oversee college staff to facilitate arts education events, student teaching placements, payment of cooperating teachers and university facilitators; foster relations leading to donor support and student employment outcomes; facilitate and nurture program advisory committee.
